Powermaster designed this 19004-5 PowerMax Plus Starter for Big Block Ford 351M, 400, 429 and 460 engines using a 164, 176, 180 or 184 Tooth Flywheel that have up to a 16.0:1 compression ratio! The 3.7:1 gear reduction ratio on this chrome Hitachi-style mini starter supplies reliable cranking power, while the 4-position rotation system clears most headers and kick-out oil pans.
This starter is an excellent choice where heat soak, limited space or hot starting is a concern. The billet aluminum adapter block helps the PowerMax Plus line to be lighter than stock starters.
