This Howards Cams CL120235-12 Retro-Fit Hydraulic Roller Camshaft & Lifter Kit fits the 396-502 Big Block Chevy (Mark IV) from 1965-1996. Howards designed this cam and lifter kit for off-road & street performance use and it has a good idle. A 9.0:1 or higher compression ratio is highly recommended.
